The extravaganza of volumes: Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring 2021
So as a part of Paris Haute Couture Week, the Italian designer Giambattista Valli presented his new Spring 2021 Haute Couture collection.
In 2020, the designer chose the format of an exhibition at the Jeu de Paume National Gallery in Paris instead of the classic show. According to the norms dictated by the turbulent times, he revived the collection for the viewer in a 13-minute film.
In the fashion film Giambattista Valli invites you to travel to the south of Spain and enjoy new couture dresses to the sounds of flamenco, surrounded by the beautiful architecture of Seville, the capital of Andalusia.

While every silhouette in ready-to-wear collections is like a chapter of the same book, in Haute Couture every dress is a new story, which the designer uses to play the role of a real sculptor creating his next masterpiece.

The Couturier takes us by the hand and leads on an intimate journey of the mind through a powerful mix of two cultures and stories, the combination of which creates fertile ground for social progress and cultural enrichment. Hispanic and Islamic cultures find a balance in complex layers of volumes and silhouettes creating something new.

The volumes of the luxurious airy cocktail dresses and evening gowns are emphasized by the layering of light textiles, a cascade of taffeta frills and wonderful shapes created by stretching the tulle fabric. High hairstyles, perfectly slicked back and adorned with silk ornate bows, refer to the 60s.

Flirting in the dance, a ballet dancer joins the models who parade in their lush outfits. He embodies the idea of the messenger of Olympus, who seeks to unveil memories, new emotions and spirits in the soul of the Valli creature.
Watching this mesmerizing extravaganza, one would like to receive an invitation to the ball and come arm in arm with a gentleman in one of these fabulous dresses from Giambattista Valli.
